Austin Museum of ArtThe Austin Museum of Art was founded in 1961 and exhibits mostly 20th century and contemporary art.

The museum is a community-oriented facility, which reflects the fun, informative and collaborative spirit of Austin in its exhibitions and educational programs. Gallery tours, performances and talks help to enhance the visitor experience. Highly-trained docents lead family groups, children's groups and other visitors through the museum's two locations.

The AMOA-Downtown includes a museum store with gifts, jewelry and books. AMOA-Laguna Gloria, the museum's original location overlooking Lake Austin, was recently restored. It served as a vacation home of Clara Driscoll, who donated the building and the 12-acre property around it to preserve and promote art and nature to the people of Central Texas.

The AMOA-Laguna Gloria is on city, state and national registries of historic places. It is a showcase for the museum's art school, which offers more than 400 art classes for adults and children.
